After a decade of going their separate ways, the AHS Class of 1993 came back together the weekend of June 7th to celebrate their 10-Year Class Reunion back home.
The party started out Friday evening with a casual get-together at an old favorite hang-out, Fat Jack’s in Texarkana. About 25 classmates and their spouses met for a night of catching up and playing pool.
The fun continued Saturday morning with a parent-teacher-alumni brunch at First Methodist Church Family Life Center. Over muffins and coffee by Linda Manley, graduates got to show of their kiddos while parents and teachers visited and reacquainted themselves with each other.
But the crowning event came Saturday night with a fun-filled memorable evening at the historic Atlantean. Classmates enjoyed a delicious buffet dinner by chef Amy Stewart before reminiscing over 1992 football season tapes, and memory videos from prom and graduation. The event was complete with music provided by Travis Ransom and awards.]
The “First Responder” award went to class valedictorian, Dr. Richard Jones—always first in all he does! The award to classmates with the oldest children went to Gretchen Harrist Davis, mother of Blake, age 12; and Tia Carpenter Clayton, mother of Casey, age 12.
The classmate with the youngest child was Terri Davis Brooks, mother of Colby, age 2 ½ months. The award for the couple married longest was a tie--Brandon and Andrea Berry Stanley and Kevin and Tia Carpenter Clayton—both going on 8 ½ years.
Callie Caver won the most recent marriage for her upcoming nuptials this summer. The classmate travelling the farthest to attend the reunion was Joy Wommack from New York City, while Redell Parker came from Omaha, Nebraska, and John and Crystal Bailey Dingler traveled from North Carolina.
Registration packets included a pop quiz on high school facts… J.D. Wagnon and Jennifer Beard Carnes tied for the class song award—“A Little Bit Older Now,” by Hi Five.
